28.05.2015 Praha-Hostivař railway station is going to change shape considerably

Today, the Railway Infrastructure Administration festively launched the reconstruction of Praha-Hostivař railway station by a traditional tap on the rail. The reconstruction is a first step of an extensive project having as objective to modernise the Prague railway junction in the section Hostivař almost up to Praha Hlavní nádraží (Prague Main Station).

14.05.2015 Revitalisation of the line 238 in the section Chrudim – Hlinsko v Čechách starting

A line closure between stations Chrudim and Chrudim město (Chrudim-City) will launch - quite discreetly – a revitalisation of the line Chrudim – Hlinsko v Čechách this Sunday 17 May. Up to the end of the year, it should ensure a speed increase up to 100 km/h in some sections, safety improvement on railway crossings, line and station safety equipment will be renewed and new central platforms will be built at Chrudim, Slatiňany and Hlinsko v Čechách stations. The construction investor is the Railway Infrastructure Administration, state organisation.

12.05.2015 Railway crossings on the line Frýdlant nad Ostravicí – Ostravice are safer after modernisation

Today, the Railway Infrastructure Administration festively completed the modernisation of railway crossings on the line between Frýdlant nad Ostravicí and Ostravice. The main asset of the project is mainly a railway operation safety increase in the section and ensuring higher comfort for passengers.

07.05.2015 Over 1,800 waste sorting bins to be installed at more than 500 Czech railway stations this year

Sorting waste not only in every community but newly also at 508 railway stations throughout the Czech Republic, providing work to the disabled and introducing the purpose and usefulness of European funding to the public – that is basically the project having been presented today by Mr. Richard Brabec, Czech Minister of the Environment, and being financed from European funds, namely the Operational Programme Environment 2007–2013. 1,865 bins for sorting paper, plastic, glass, metals and municipal solid waste will be installed during this year by a sheltered workshop which employs disabled persons by more than 50% within a common project of the Ministry of the Environment, the Czech National Disability Council, Czech Railways and the Czech Railway Infrastructure Administration.

04.05.2015 Operation on Rožnov local line will be safer and smoother

Today, the Railway Infrastructure Administration festively launched testing operation of new railway crossings on the single-track line from Valašské Meziříčí to Rožnov pod Radhoštěm. Five railway crossings with roads underwent reconstruction.

28.04.2015 Trains Running Through Břeclav Junction Faster

Modernisation of the Břeclav railway junction is finished. Today the Railway Infrastructure Administration festively finalised the second stage of its reconstruction. Construction works were carried out for more than two years in the central part of the station which was the bottleneck of the entire junction. Thanks to a complete configuration change of the trackage, trains can ride here now with the same speed as on already finished connecting line sections.

20.04.2015 Reaction of the railway infrastructure manager to the Supreme Audit Office’s conclusions

The Supreme Audit Office (SAO) examined past providing, drawing and using money for repairs and maintenance of nation-wide and regional railway systems in the years 2010 - 2014. The inspection did not find any essential fault on the side of the Railway Infrastructure Administration (RIA) Headquarters or its Regional Directorates. According to SAO, the inspection found out that RIA could act more economically in some individual cases. However, the railway infrastructure manager cannot agree with some reprimands of the inspectors as shown in the SAO’s press release.

08.04.2015 Exceptional timetable change as of 13 April 2015

The Railway Infrastructure Administration prepared an exceptional passenger timetable change as of Monday, 13 April 2015. Changes in train running concern more than twenty railway lines based on requests from carriers and regions and in some cases also related to the launch of long-term closures’ stages.
