02.04.2015 The Railway Infrastructure Administration is going to support a professional school in Brno
The Railway Infrastructure Administration (SŽDC), the South Moravia Region and the Secondary School of Informatics and Communications Brno signed today an agreement of cooperation. This agreement will regulate e.g. recruiting students to enter this school, organising courses and training for teachers of specialised subjects as well as innovating school training programmes in the field of signalling and safety technology.
The Railway Infrastructure Administration has presented a unique safety film made by students with the characteristic name “You won’t make it!”. The goal of this joint project with Czech Railways is especially to support prevention and education in the area of safety on the railway for young people. The official premiere of the film took place today at the Prague MAT cinema in the presence of representatives of the RIA, Czech Railways, the project partners, the authors and other guests.
18.03.2015 The Railway Infrastructure Administration reconstructed a bridge over the river Ohře on the line Chomutov – Cheb
The Railway Infrastructure Administration finished a complex reconstruction of the railway bridge near Ostrov in Karlovy Vary Region on the line Chomutov – Cheb. A festive completion of the construction took place on Wednesday 18 March in the premises of Vojkovice nad Ohří railway station. The construction has as objective to preserve operation on a double-track line with a required line category, track clearance and line speed.
Modernisation of the line section Praha-Běchovice – Úvaly enters a new phase on Tuesday 3 March. One of its parts will consist in repairing the double-track bridge at Úvaly railway station which will have as result a considerable decrease of the line capacity. For this reason, the number of selected trains running through this station will be reduced.
According to an old tradition, a statue of St. Barbara, patron saint of all miners, was laid in the portal of the tunnel newly being built at Ejpovice. With the participation of top representatives of the Railway Infrastructure Administration, state organisation, and the Metrostav and Subterra companies, a christening of a special tunnel boring machine (mole) S-799 over 110 metres long designed to dig the longest two tunnels in the Czech Republic under Homolka and Chlum Hills took place as well. Each of the tunnels will exceed 4 kilometres.
The Railway Infrastructure Administration prepared an exceptional change of the passenger transport timetable as of Monday 2 February 2015 on 15 railway lines altogether. This change took place especially in relation to closures at Prague Main Station due to a reconstruction of roofing above Platforms No 1 – 4.
09.01.2015 The Railway Infrastructure Administration issues a warning against false changes in suppliers’ bank accounts
The Railway Infrastructure Administration (RIA) became a victim of fraud at the end of last year. In December 2014, it received an official request to change the numbers of selected bank accounts for one of its suppliers. It subsequently discovered, however, that this change in bank details was false.
The Railway Infrastructure Administration completed construction works in the premises of Uherský Brod railway station as part of the second stage of the local transport terminal’s construction. Passenger can thus already use a new platform directly connected to the bus stop being currently built. The main construction investor is the city of Uherský Brod; the project’s implementation was supported by the Czech-Swiss Cooperation Programme.
16.12.2014 The boom in suburban stops is continuing
On Monday 15th December, trains will begin stopping at the new Chýně jih train stop, the opening of which is part of a project involving the construction of a number of suburban stops. The Rudná zastávka, Chýně, Jinočany, Hostivice-Sadová and Hostivice-U hřbitova train stops have all been in operation since 1st September. The Railway Infrastructure Administration and the Central Bohemian Region have jointly invested tens of millions of crowns in this project.
