25.06.2013 Modernization of the railway Tábor – Sudoměřice u Tábora was launched

Modernization of the railway track between Tábor a Sudoměřice u Tábora has experienced opening ceremony today. This currently single-track section is part of the 4th transit railway corridor from the Děčín state border through Prague, Benešov, and Tábor to České Budějovice and Horní Dvořiště state border. Total construction length is 11.389 km.

21.06.2013 Reconstruction of the Bylnice station improved parameters of passenger transport

The Railway Infrastructure Administration finished today festively the construction designated Reconstruction of Railway Station Bylnice – 1st construction. Its objective was reconstructing a substantial part of rails in Bylnice Station, situated on the lines tratích Staré Město u Uherského Hradiště – Vlárský průsmyk and Bylnice – Horní Lideč. The unfavourable state of railway superstructure could thus be eliminated, journey parameters of rails were improved as well

20.06.2013 CEOs of the Visegrád V4 railway administrations signed the Memorandum of Understanding

On 20 and 21June 2013, top representatives of the Visegrád V4 railway administrations met in the Hraniční zámeček hotel in Hlohovec for a two-day meeting during which they discussed mostly possibilities of mutual cooperation in the field of passenger transport liberalisation, financing its modernisation and developing and increasing competitiveness of the European railways. On the second day of their meeting shortly after 12.00 AM a festive signing of the Memorandum of Understanding by CEOs of the Visegrád V4 railway administrations took place. The main objective of this document on cooperation is increasing competitiveness of the European railways. Mr, Christian Kern, CEO of ÖBB-Holding AG , took part in this meeting as a guest if honour.

20.06.2013 A new railway stop in the city centre started services for inhabitants of Třinec

The Railway Infrastructure Administration together with the Ministry of Transport, the city of Třinec and Czech Railways opened festively a new railway stop Třinec centrum (Trzyniec Centrum), situated on the sections between railway stations Bystřice nad Olší – Třinec on Transit Railway Corridor III. The stop is situated not far from T. G. Masaryk Square. Servicing the city centre will thus improve which will contribute to a higher interest of city inhabitants in railway transport. This should be also helped by ne parking being currently built near the new railway stop.

17.06.2013 Radio system GSM-R between Ostrava – state border with Slovakia and Přerov – Č. Třebová launched

An expert seminar today officially completed another phase of implementation of GSM-R on the route Ostrava – Opava, Dětmarovice – state border with Slovakia and the connection between the two main corridors Přerov – Česká Třebová. These are the sections that complement the existing rail network already covered with the pan-European digital radio standard GSM-R. In the Czech Republic, the GSM-R completely covers 1st and 2nd National Railway Corridor.

13.06.2013 Modernization of the line Votice – Benešov u Prahy finished. Passengers can look forward to higher speed, new tunnels and better comfort during the journey.

Modernization of the Votice – Benešov u Prahy line section was festively finished today. This construction, situated on the territory of Central Bohemia Region, is part of the Trans-European Network and national Rail Corridor IV Děčín state border - Praha – Benešov – Tábor – Veselí n. Lužnicí – České Budějovice – Horní Dvořiště state border. The construction ”Modernization of the line Votice - Benešov u Prahy“ starts at km 114.763 in front of the Votice railway station and ends in front of the Benešov u Prahy railway station at km 133.235 where it connects to the already finished construction ”Optimization of the line Benešov u Prahy – Strančice“. As a construction, the section comprises a double-track line 18.405 km long.
