03.12.2012 Double-track operation launched as part of the Modernization of the line Votice – Benešov u Prahy

The launch of the double-track operation is a significant event. This track section runs in a completely new and straighter path. After the completion of the construction project in 2013 it will be possible to use the speed of up to 160km per hour in this section. The modernized section is part of IV Railway Transit Corridor: Děčín state border - Prague – Benešov – Tábor – Veselí n. Lužnicí – České Budějovice – Horní Dvořiště state border. The investor is the Railway Infrastructure Administration, state organization.

„The Bridge reconstruction on km 2,089 on the line Děčín – Jedlová“ commenced on today´s festive occasion. This is another significant construction co-funded by the European Union from the Cohesion Fund as part of the Operational Programme Transport. The investor is the Railway Infrastructure Administration, state organization (SŽDC).

27.11.2012 After nearly 120 years in operation, the railway bridge in Týnec nad Sázavou finally sees reconstruction. Thanks to EU subsidies.

„The Bridge reconstruction on km 9,531 Čerčany – Skochovice“ commenced on today´s festive occasion. The bridge takes a single-track non-electrified railway line across the Sázava River in Týnec nad Sázavou. The reconstruction is co-funded by the European Union from the Cohesion Fund as part of the Operational Programme Transport. The investor of the construction is the Railway Infrastructure Administration, state organization (SŽDC).

20.11.2012 Construction project „Optimization of the line Lysá nad Labem – Prague-Vysočany, 1st construction“ successfully completed

Another significant phase of the Czech railway modernization has been completed. The investor of the construction project „Optimization of the line Lysá nad Labem – Prague-Vysočany, 1st construction“ is the Railway Infrastructure Administration, state organization (SŽDC). The contractor of the construction project was AŽD Prague. The construction has been largely co-funded as part of the Operational Programme Transport from the Cohesion Fund of the European Union.

14.11.2012 Together with the new timetable (09.12.2012) SŽDC launches right-hand operation on the line Břeclav – Přerov – Bohumín

What can passengers expect from the right-hand traffic? As at 9 December 2012, passengers will use the platform on the right in driving direction for the entry and exit in all train stops on the line Břeclav – Přerov – Bohumín. It means that the passengers will get on/off on the opposite platform in train stops than they were used to. In railway stations, the arrival and departure information will be announced through the station announcement system or information boards.

01.11.2012 Railway Infrastructure Administration selected contractors for construction projects in Břeclav and Ústí nad Orlicí

Railway Infrastructure Administration (SŽDC) selected two more contractors for over-limit projects related to the modernization of the railway infrastructure, i.e. railway junctions in this case. The only evaluative criterion was the lowest bid price.
