01.06.2012 An original cycle track resulted from the modernization of the railway line and the initiative of the city of Zábřeh
the scent of railway sleepers and a beautiful scenery of green wooded hills – this is just a fraction of experiences we can enjoy on a completely new over 2,5 km long cycle track between Hoštejn and Lupěné at the Olomoucky Region. The path (not only) for the cyclists was built thanks to the modernization of the line Česká Třebová – Zábřeh na Moravě, part of III Railway Transit Corridor, and to the construction of a new tunnel relocation running through Hejnice massif and after deserting the original earthworks and trackbed construction. The investor of the line modernization is the Railway Infrastructure Administration, state organization (SŽDC).
Another significant section of III Railway Transit Corridor is completed. The main objective of the construction was to adapt the earthworks and to carry out track lining and levelling incl. directional shifts in order to enhance the speed and safety of railway traffic while achieving qualitatively higher parameters in terms of compatibility and obstruction clearance. The investor of the construction is the Railway Infrastructure Administration, state organization. The project for nearly CZK 4.8 bn was implemented by the association of contractors Skanska, EUROVIA CS and Viamont DSP.
In connection with today´s contingency at the level crossing in Třešť, during which a guided vehicle collided with a bus, it is necessary to stress following facts.
23.05.2012 Optimization of the line Stříbro – Planá u Mariánských Lázní receives the Award „2011 Transport Construction“
On Thursday, 17th May 2012 Awards and Titles were presented in the Bethlehem Chapel in Prague. The 2011 Czech transport construction, technology and innovation received a record-breaking number of 88 applications! Ing. Ivo Toman, MBA, Deputy Minister of Transport and Ing. Tomáš Čoček, Ph.D., SFDI´s Director presented the certificates to the representatives of the award-winning applicants on behalf of the announcers.
Given the kindly climatic conditions, planned working processes can be fully developed and the modernization work on the line Votice – Benešov u Prahy is underway.
10.05.2012 Festive completion of the Optimization of the line České Velenice – Veselí nad Lužnicí, 1st construction
– the objective of the optimization was to provide suitable technical conditions at railway station České Velenice which would comply with European parameters as well as with interoperability standards for European railway system lines. It also contributed to enhanced safety of the railway transport and passengers. The investor of the project is the Railway Infrastructure Administration, state organization (SŽDC). The Optimization of the line České Velenice – Veselí nad Lužnicí, 1st construction is largely co-funded by the European Union.
04.05.2012 Reconstruction of the platform in Šťáhlavy on the line České Budějovice - Plzeň may be revolutionary
The upcoming reconstruction of the platform in train stop Šťáhlavy (Plzeň-south) on the line České Budějovice – Plzeň may bring about a radical change of procedures applied within legislative duties to reduce over-limit noisiness of the surrounding built-up area in connection with the railway traffic. This is currently made possible only when using noise barriers or earth embankments. This construction, the investor of which is the Railway Infrastructure Administration, state organization (SŽDC), is going to test for the very first time the new type of the platform edge equipped with noise absorbing matrices of recycled rubber on the front (track-adjoining vertical) surface. The new type of the platform edge H 130 disposes of a distinct antiskid design of the contact surface. The platform edge is still 550 mm over the top of rail to allow an easier access and exit for passengers. The contractor of the construction is Skanska a.s.
The railway section between Prague – main station and Beroun is one of the busiest lines in the Czech Republic. The line is frequently used for long-distance passenger and freight transport as well as for suburban passenger basic interval traffic. SŽDC as the rail operator has therefore prepared a complex of required repair work of the most timeworn sections. Traffic closures start on Friday, 4th May.
