The Fire Brigade of the Railway Infrastructure Administration, state organization (SŽDC) participated in a tactical training with other fire brigades, the Police of CR and paramedics. A simulated train accident inside the Krasikov tunnel was attended by all units of the Joint Rescue Service.
11.02.2011 Reconstruction of the railway station Bojkovice including the reconstruction of the signalling installation completed
Bojkovice, 11/02/2011 – another significant construction implemented under the project of the subsidiary lines reconstruction was festively completed. The completed reconstruction of the railway station Bojkovice in the Zlin region represents an important phase of the progressive reconstruction carried out along the whole railway section – the objective of which is to be the long-distance rail operation control. The investor of the event was the Railway Infrastructure Administration, state organization (SŽDC).
10.02.2011 The Czech Government endorsed the “live infrastructure” – a significant feature of the Czech railway transformation
The Government of the Czech Republic endorsed a draft submitted by the Minister of Transport on the transfer of approximately 9.500 members of staff from Czech Railways to Railway Infrastructure Administration, state organization. This crucial decision shall complete the transformation process of the Czech rail. As of 1.7.2011 its infrastructure as well as the operation control will finally be separated from rail carriers.
Enhanced safety of rail operation is the priority for the Railway Infrastructure Administration, state organization (SŽDC). Approximately CZK 3 billion is annually invested in the modernization of the safety and signalling system within the railway network of the Czech Republic.
On Monday, 24th January 2011 at 14:56:09 there was 22kV-power failure at the traction substation (NS) Balabenka caused by the impact of overcurrent protection. The most likely cause of this primary impact of overcurrent protection seems to be the overload of traction substation Balabenka. This might have been caused for instance by sharp increase of consumption in the contact line system. Another explanation may be the short circuit on the electric locomotive, possibly on its pre-heating, or the combination of all those events.
19.01.2011 Railway in the Czech Republic achieves another success in the field of investments co-funded by the European Union
Within a very short period, the European Commission approved the sixth investment project (over EURO 50 million) for the Czech railway. The Railway Infrastructure Administration, state organization (SŽDC) will receive a contribution of nearly CZK 1 billion from the Cohesion Fund under the Operational Programme Transport. In this case, the objective of this big investment project was the electrification of the railway section Šatov – Znojmo.
One of the priorities of Railway Infrastructure Administration, state organization (SŽDC) is to ensure and to enhance the safety at level crossings. It should be noted, however, that ensuring the safety at level crossings should concern not only SŽDC as the owner and manager of the railway infrastructure, but also the owner/manager of the roads.
