A new compulsory feature was supplemented in the General Agreement on the track access by the Railway Infrastructure Administration, state organization (SŽDC). It involves the obligation to pay the charge for the requested and allocated path capacity even if it was not eventually utilized.

In connection with the completion of the pilot project „Enhancing safety on D3 lines in the railway section Číčenice – Volary“, the Railway Infrastructure Administration, state organization (SŽDC) introduces rules concerning rail operation on this line. Anticipated completion of the construction is November 2011.
30.03.2011 Deploying GSM-R technology on II Railway Transit Corridor completed with the assistance of EU funds
The next stage of the GSM-R implementation on the railway section Břeclav-Přerov-Petrovice u Karviné was festively completed. It is the second Czech corridor which is fully covered with an all-European mobile standard GSM-R providing enhanced safety on key railway lines. In the Czech Republic, the GSM-R system has already been deployed on I National Railway Corridor from the state border near Děčín, via Prague and Brno as far as Břeclav and further on to the Austrian and Slovak frontier.

Along the whole section of the line Votice – Benešov u Prahy there are ongoing excavations and concreting of foundations for overhead line masts, their construction and equipment, subsequent re-hang of the overhead contact line and dismantling of original masts and foundations, upgrade of cabling and signalling installation components and cabling relocation for possible construction.

Railway Infrastructure Administration, state organization (SŽDC), as the entity providing rail operation for ordinary life situations as well as in case of non-military and military emergency situations, has decided to significantly enhance the rail protection and the supervision over its own processes. The objective is to guarantee the maximum safety of SŽDC´s key operations. The decision follows the completed analysis of safety risks. The enhancement of the company´s safety is also associated with the upcoming transfer of the members of rail service staff from the Czech Railways, joint-stock company.
