RIA establishment

Following the Act No.77/2002 Coll. on Transformation of Czech Railways, state organization, as of 31.12.2002 the Czech Railways, state organization, ceased to exist, without liquidation. As of 1.1.2003, two successor organizations - Czech Railways, joint-stock company, and Railway Infrastructure Administration, state organization (RIA) - were established.

RIA is registered in the commercial register with the Municipal Court in Prague, section A, enclosure 48384, IČ 70 99 42 34, DIČ CZ70994234.

• RIA has taken over management of the state assets mainly represented by the railway infrastructure.
  
• It fulfils the role of a rail owner, providing operation, operability, modernization and development of the railway infrastructure.
  
• It allocates path capacity and as of 1.7.2008 it also becomes the operator of a national and regional rail owned by the Czech Republic.
