New train stop Krásný Jez zastávka
Krásný Jez, 27/11/2009 – With the new train traffic timetable (as of 13th December) passengers in the Karlovy Vary region will be able to use a brand new train stop Krásný Jez zastávka. Its construction was implemented as it was necessary to make the railway transport available for the locals. The train station Krásný Jez is situated more than one kilometre from the village. The new train stop built directly in the village created all conditions for enhancing the attractiveness of the railway passenger transport. The investor of the project was the Railway Infrastructure Administration, state organization, Civil Engineering Administration Pilsen.
The stop is equipped with a new shelter for the passengers, a barrier-free access, a modern 80-m long platform with the height of 550 mm over the top of rail to allow an easier access and exit for the passengers. There is also a cycle stand. The construction Krásný Jez – train stop also included the reconstruction of the ca 200-m long superstructure, modifications of the safety and signalling equipment and installation of a new public lighting system.
The new platform is the type UMSTEIGER PLUS 2000 provided by the German firm FRENZEL-BAU. It is a type which has been tested and used in the Czech Republic. The platform UMSTEIGER PLUS 2000 consists of platform plates laid on long concrete girders which are mounted in concrete feet. It is easily demountable, appears more compact and provides passengers with better comfort than the current platform types. The superstructure was modified by machine ballast cleaning and a replaced track skeleton. The original wooden sleepers were replaced by concrete ones.
The implementation of the project was carried out in October this year whereas the main work was conducted during continuous 18-day track possession. The construction was implemented by the firm EDIKT a. s. České Budějovice, the platform structure was set up by the firm FRENZEL-BAU based in German Plauen.
