28.03.2018

This year, Správa železniční dopravní cesty (SŽDC) estimates total costs for constructions or project preparation of modernising station buildings in Zlín Region to an amount of CZK 29 million. Among the largest investments in preparation we can name the reconstruction of railway stations in Újezdec u Luhačovic, Huštěnovice or Kunovice-Loučka. Stations and stops will also undergo substantial changes within modernisation and electrification of the line Otrokovice – Vizovice.

”This year, we assume implementing or launching project preparation for repairs of approximately a dozen of railway stations in Zlín Region. More reconstructions are part of large projects for reconstructing stations or lines. Form the most important ones we can undoubtedly name modernisation of all stations and stops on the line leading from Otrokovice up to Vizovice. Our colleagues from the Civil Engineering Administration are also preparing in the two years to follow extensive reconstructions od Vsetín, Rožnov pod Radhoštěm and Bystřice pod Hostýnem“, says Mr. Tomáš Drmola, Deputy Director General for Property Management.

In case of the modernisation and electrification of the line Otrokovice – Vizovice in preparation, modern platforms with an underpass are designed for Otrokovice; moreover, a new station building is to be constructed. A new transport terminal will be built in Zlín to handle premises on front of the railway station. It includes the station building, a bus terminal and parking places. The transport terminal will represent investments of several partners. The current station building will be demolished within the modernisation and a quite new one will arise, moreover connected to the underpass and new platforms and lifts. Vizovice will also acquire a new station building with barrier-free access to the centre platform.

This year. the station manager plans to repair the building façade in Staré Město u Uherského Hradiště for almost CZK 4 million. Repairs are urgent at the railway station in Kunovice-Loučka, the building will preserve its original shape and the upper floor will be torn down. Internal premises will acquire a new layout with costs amounting up to CZK 6.8 million. Precisely this construction is an example of good cooperation with the local municipality. The railway took into consideration its remarks concerning the station building reconstruction and the municipality wants to continue with its own project of adapting premises in front of the station including the construction of parking places and a new bus stop. Another station building being reconstructed this year is situated in Huštěnovice. The complex reconstruction for CZK 9.7 million includes a demolition of unused extensions. Almost CZK 13 million will be used for a complex reconstruction of the railway station in Újezdec u Luhačovic including a necessary transfer of transport technology from the parts being demolished into new premises. In Slavičín, the station building will be repaired for a sum of CZK 4.5 million

This year, project preparation for reconstruction of the station building in Napajedla will start as well. Besides the challenging reconstruction as such, its future use is also being dealt with; a possible reduction is also in consideration. In case of no problems occurring during project preparation, implementation can start at the turn of 2019 and 2020.
