Trains can ride faster on the modernised section of the line Havlíčkův Brod - Brno
Žďár nad Sázavou, 14 October 2015 – The Railway Infrastructure Administration festively completed reconstruction of tracks in the section Sklené nad Oslavou – Ostrov nad Oslavou as part of a frequented line between Havlíčkův Brod and Brno. The main asset of the construction is a line speed increase up to 120 km/h for classical trains and to 140 km/h for tilting trains.
The core of a complex reconstruction and modernisation of the double-track line section Sklené nad Oslavou – Ostrov nad Oslavou consisted of exchanging the railway superstructure and substructure, including dewatering and renewal of the catenary. Extensive changes occurred at Laštovičky railway stop where builders constructed an elevated platform and adapted access ways, installed a new house content, an orientation system, lighting and radio.
”The result of reconstructing this line leading through the region of Vysočina will please especially railway transport passengers. Travelling by train between Brno and Havlíčkův Brod will be now more comfortable, faster and safer. Moreover, the modernised railway line satisfies higher quality requirements for purposes of operating international transport”, says Mr. Pavel Surý, Director General of the Railway Infrastructure Administration about the construction’s assets.
Within the project’s framework, builders also reconstructed load bearing structures, stabilised bridges ad repaired culverts conducing water under the embankment. A part of the construction was also completely modernising rail safety equipment including external signalling components. Low voltage distribution lines were installed in a necessary extent. Prefabricated air conditioned relay components for placing line safety equipment were installed at railway stations Sklené nad Oslavou and Ostrov nad Oslavou.
