Revitalisation will improve parameters of the line Pardubice – Ždírec nad Doubravou
Chrudim, 25 June 2015 – Track adaptations, building new platforms, reconstruction of current railway stations and crossings as well as modernisation of safety and communication equipment – all of this will be included in the revitalisation of the line Pardubice – Ždírec nad Doubravou which as festively launched today by the Railway Infrastructure Administration at Chrudim railway station.
”Of the assets of this section reconstruction on the national line Havlíčkův Brod – Pardubice, we can name especially an improvement of travelling comfort and safety on this line. Passengers can look forward to shorter journey times and better access to information about current activities on the railway“, said Mr. Pavel Surý, Director General of the Railway Infrastructure Administration about positive impacts of this construction.
The line revitalisation will assure better comfort to passengers at railway stations and stops. This will be enabled by building several central platforms at stations Chrudim, Slatiňany and Hlinsko v Čechách. Sections between stations Chrást u Chrudimi – Slatiňany and Slatiňany – Chrudim will undergo reconstruction as well. Moreover, a new passing loop Cejřov will be built between railway stops Vrbatův Kostelec and Prosetín.
An important part of the construction is also strengthening safety components on the line. Adaptations of the railway superstructure and substructure of station tracks and open line tracks are planned together with modernisation of communication and safety equipment.
Total costs of the construction designated as Reconstruction of the line Pardubice – Ždírec nad Doubravou amount up to 995,777,500 CZK (VAT excluded) The investor is the Railway Infrastructure Administration, state organisation. The project is proposed for co-financing by the European Union under the operational Programme Transport with a planned contribution amount from the Cohesion Funds reaching up to 782,768,776 CZK. National financing of the project is assured by the State Fund for Transport Infrastructure. The completion of works is planned for this December.
