Stará Paka railway station features modern parameters after rebuilding

Stará Paka 7 June, 2013 – Railway Infrastructure Administration held a ceremony at the occasion of completion of Stará Paka railway station rebuilding today. The execution of this project by Stará Paka Consortium chaired by AŽD Praha resulted in remarkable improvement of safety and reliability of railway traffic including the improvement of passenger safety and comfort. The project is co-financed from European Union’s Cohesion Fund under Transport Operational Programme.

 

 

New control room for gradual activation of centralized Jaroměř – Stará Paka – Železný Brod railway line traffic control system was built at the railway station. The rebuilding also significantly relieved mutual limitations of movement of trains in the station which shortened the travelling time and improved passenger transport cost efficiency. The station can now boast of a new electronic station interlocking system of the latest category 3. The adjacent railway line sections to Lomnice nad Popelkou, Roztoky u Jilemnice, Horka u Staré Paky and Nová Paka are now equipped with automatic blocks replacing the phone system.

The passengers can enjoy new comfortable platforms with six boarding edges. All the platforms are at 550 mm level above the rail surface for easier boarding and getting off. New pavements connect the station building and the platforms. An advanced information system showing the train arrival and departure times and access to the platforms was installed to supplement the station public address system. The station area is monitored by CCTV cameras.

The project has also improved the road traffic safety as 12 railway crossings underwent substantial rebuilding.

The project called Stará Paka Railway Station Rebuilding for Centralized Traffic Control System (CTCS) is co‑financed from European Union’s Cohesion Fund under Transport Operational Programme. The national funds were provided by the State Fund for Transport Infrastructure. The project costs total at CZK 383,424,000 with CZK 270,565,121 contribution from EU.
