Dealing with the Environment Department issues at SŽDC organizational units

Practical administration of the Environment Department agenda is currently provided by relevant SŽDC organizational units. As for the environmental field, a major role is played by 13 Regional Infrastructure Departments.

Overview of organizational units functions in the area of the environment (not all spheres are represented at some organizational units)

• water management – water supply and waste water discharge, drawing up and updating of emergency plans, working and manipulation regulations and cooperation on drawing up flood plans; dealing with emergency leakage
• air protection (boiler houses and technologies) – register in SW EisProW, meeting regular reporting duty towards state administration
• waste economy – monitoring production and handing over produced hazardous and other waste (performing the function of a waste administrator for relevant Regional Infrastructure Departments in compliance with the Waste Act), register in SW EisProW, meeting regular reporting duty towards state administration
• nature and landscape protection (growing greenery, weed killing – providing documentation and communication with state administration)
• public health protection (noise and vibration)

  • training the staff from the environmental protection
  • inspection function and proposing measures to improve the situation
