17.10.2016 RIA takes over management of the Prague Main Railway Station

Management of the largest station in the country is taken over by the Railway Infrastructure Administration. At the stroke of midnight from Sunday to Monday the contract with Grandi Stazioni expired. This happened only because of the delay of Grandi Stazioni to execute and complete the reconstruction, which was supposed to be completed already in 2013. The explicit goal for coming days is that the change of the station management in no way affects the operation of the station and passengers and lessees. All steps of the new administrator will lead to maintaining continuous operation.

13.10.2016 Horažďovice předměstí railway station experienced an important change

Správa železniční dopravní cesty (the Czech Railway Infrastructure Administration) reconstructed the railway station Horažďovice předměstí, situated on the partially double-tracked line České Budějovice - Plzeň. The main asset of this project is mainly increased railway transport safety in this section and ensuring higher comfort for passengers.

07.10.2016 New bridges improved travelling from Břeclav to Austria

Správa železniční dopravní cesty (the Czech Railway Infrastructure administration) reconstructed railway bridges on the line from Břeclav to the state border with Austria. This project’s implementation allowed increasing transport availability as well as current line speed and ensuring higher safety and travelling comfort.

05.10.2016 SŽDC improved parameters of the line from Moravian Wallachia to Slovakia

Správa železniční dopravní cesty (the Czech Railway Infrastructure Administration) improved parameters of the railway line from Hranice na Moravě to Střelná in the sections Valašské Meziříčí (outside) – Jablůnka (outside) and Vsetín (outside) – Horní Lideč (outside). The main objective of the project was achieving a technical state corresponding to EU parameters and standards.

29.09.2016 Travelling by train between Lysá nad Labem and Ústí nad Labem is faster and safer

Správa železniční dopravní cesty (the Czech Railway infrastructure Administration) improved parameters on the railway line Lysá nad Labem - Ústí nad Labem. The main objective of this project was to achieve a technical state corresponding to EU parameters and standards. The construction contributed considerably to higher travelling comfort and safety for passengers as well as decreasing the noise burden in this section.

20.09.2016 For the first time, SŽDC Student Cup pays a visit to Děčín

This Thursday, the city of Děčín will be hosting for the first time the sports and educational event called SŽDC Student Cup. Approximately 150 pupils of the 8th – 9th class of primary schools from Děčín and its neighbourhood will meet on the playground of the High Professional and Technical School of Machine Industry, Civil Engineering and Transport at Slovanská Street. Both knowledge tests and interesting sporting disciplines will be prepared for them.

16.09.2016 Dan Ťok, Czech Minister of Transport: The European communication standard GSM-R connected the Czech and the Austrian railway

Správa železniční dopravní cesty (the Czech Railway Infrastructure Administration) officially took over from the Kapsch company as supplier another railway line section twelve and a half kilometres long with extended GSM-R radio technology. The strategic route from Znojmo through Šatov up to the Austrian state border was covered by a European standard in less than a year. ”We gradually safeguard and accelerate railway transport in this way. By using this technology, we are getting a better connection with our Southern neighbour“, said Mr. Dan Ťok, Minister of Transport of the Czech Republic.

15.09.2016 Travelling by train from České Budějovice to Volary is faster, safer and more comfortable

Správa železniční dopravní cesty (the Czech Railway Infrastructure Administration) revitalised the regional line from České Budějovice to Volary. The biggest asset of this project is a railway transport safety and speed increase on this railway line within Šumava Mountains.
