12.12.2014 Trains are to return to several lines on Sunday, in April they will arrive to Ostrava Airport
Mid-December is usually a period of great changes in public transport. On the Czech railway, the new timetable is prepared by the Railway Infrastructure Administration, based on requirements from individual transport operators. Most of the trains – 8,457 of them – are operated traditionally by České dráhy (Czech Railways), the other carriers operate 477 trains in total.
Český Těšín railway station has been undergoing overall reconstruction for a year already. A managers’ control day took place today. The Investor of this construction with a value exceeding one billion Czech crowns is the Railway Infrastructure Administration, the works’ supplier is the association of companies Subterra and Metrostav.

An important stage of the Czech railway modernisation was finalised today. The construction “Passage though Plzeň railway junction in direction of Czech Rail Transit Corridor III” brought a considerable improvement in travelling comfort and safety and allowed a decrease of the noise burden for city inhabitants at the same time. Passengers can use an extended underpass which newly ends in Šumavská and Železniční Street as well as new barrier-free platforms. The extent of modernisation thus fully corresponds to the strategic importance of Plzeň railway junction which is part of the Trans-European Network (TEN-T).
01.12.2014 Trains stop at Ústí nad Orlicí station again
The construction called Passage through Railway Junction in Ústí nad Orlicí reached its final stage. The new relocation of the railway line enabling a considerable increase in speed is already in operation so that trains can stop at Ústí nad Orlicí railway station since mid-November again. Today, managers carried out an inspection at the construction site. The project is co-financed by the European Union from its Cohesion Fund under the Operational Programme Transport.
A Director’s Control Day took place today on the construction launched this year on the line from Pardubice to Hradec Králové. It had as objective to evaluate the state of works and to inform the participants with the prospective for the period to follow. This operation is going to be co-financed by the European Union from its Cohesion Fund under the Operational Programme Transport.
The construction called Bridge reconstruction in km 9.531 on the Čerčany – Skochovice line was festively completed today. The bridge with a single-track un-electrified railway line spans over the Sázava River in Týnec nad Sázavou. The reconstruction was co-financed from the EU Cohesion Fund under the Operational Programme Transport. The construction’s investor was the Railway Infrastructure Administration, state organisation (SŽDC).
The Railway Infrastructure Administration festively launched today the reconstruction of tracks in the line section Sklené nad Oslavou – Ostrov nad Oslavou which is a part of the heavily used railway line between Havlíčkův Brod and Brno. The main asset of the construction is a speed increase up to 120 km/h for classical train-sets and up to 140 km/h for tilting trains
