2011: The lowest number of accidents at level crossings since 2004!
Prague, 4th January 2011 – In connection with the released statistics of the Rail Safety Inspection of the Czech Republic concerning the number of accidents at level crossings, the Railway Infrastructure Administration – state organization – as the operator of the state-owned rail also presents a press release with complementary data on the level crossings for the respective period.
Thanks to a better protection of the level crossings, SŽDC - similarly as the Rail Safety Inspection - records for 2011 the lowest number of accidents at level crossings since 2004. SŽDC annually invests several hundreds of millions of Czech crowns in a more efficient protection of level crossings through the State Fund for Transport Infrastructure. Last year, SŽDC succeeded in investing a record-breaking amount. SŽDC intends to maintain such a trend in the years to come as well.
