Feasibility Study for New Line Prague – Beroun Has Been Approved
The Central Committee of the Ministry of Transport approved the feasibility study verifying the new route primarily between Prague and Beroun with a recommendation for further preparation of the new line Praha-Smíchov/Braník Bridge – Beroun. Správa železniční dopravní cesty (SŽDC) simultaneously continues implementing and preparing constructions within the optimization of the current line Praha-Smíchov - Beroun.
Fast trains at Pačejov Will Not Have to Brake, New Platforms Will Be Added to Faster Tracks
Pačejov Station in the vicinity of Klatovy will not be a notional brake on the railway line from České Budějovice to Plzeň anymore. While trains had to slow down to 65 kph up to now, they will be able to run at speeds of 100 kph after the completion of repairs which were festively launched today by Správa železniční dopravní cesty (SŽDC). Works should be finished in June 2021 with total investment costs equalling CZK 1 billion.
SŽDC Co-organizes the 15th UIC World Security Congress
On 21 and 22 November, Správa železniční dopravní cesty (SŽDC) organizes together with the International Union of Railways (UIC) the 15th World Security Congress. The theme of this year’s Congress, held for the first time in the Czech Republic, is safety and security at railway stations. The Congress is being held under the auspices of Mr. Vladimír Kremlík, Minister of Transport of the Czech Republic
SŽDC Successfully Completed Preparation of the First Blending Call Programme Project
Správa železniční dopravní cesty (SŽDC) moved to a further step in preparing the first project implemented within the Blending Call Programme and called a tender for a supplier of the construction designated as “Velim – Poříčany, BC“.
SŽDC Presented Assessments of the Výtoň Bridge
Správa železniční dopravní cesty (SŽDC) presented conclusions of the assessment prepared by the Klokner Institute of the Czech Technical University concerning works carried out up to now on the Výtoň Bridge in Prague to representatives of the historical monuments care from the Ministry of Culture. The conclusions consisted primarily in diagnostics and assessing the current state of the bridge. The document contains also a suggested solution, prepared by Professor Eugen Brühwiler from Switzerland.
Prague Will Have another Quadruple-Track Line Section
Reconstruction of an important connecting line between Prague and Beroun along Berounka River begins. Today, Správa železniční dopravní cesty (SŽDC) festively launched the line optimization in the Praha-Smíchov - Praha-Radotín. This will being another quadruple-track section to the capital, Radotín Station will experience a substantial change and the stop Velká Chuchle will move closer to the inhabited built-up area. The investment with total costs exceeding CZK 3 billion will last up to July 2022.
SŽDC Will Complete Reconstruction of More than 80 Station Buildings up to 2022
Správa železniční dopravní cesty (SŽDC) intensely prepares reconstructions and repairs of more passenger buildings throughout the Czech Republic. Construction works on sixty station buildings at minimum will result in higher comfort and travelling culture including modern dispatch premises and barrier-free access. SŽDC thus fulfils the Programme declaration of the government from June last year precisely in the field of station buildings’ repairs and reconstructions.
SŽDC Invests in the South of Bohemia into Corridor Modernization and Passenger Buildings’ Repairs
Billions of Czech crowns are currently being invested into modernization of the railway infrastructure in South Bohemia Region. Most financial resources are being directed into reconstruction of two sections of the Czech Rail Transit Corridor between Prague and České Budějovice. At the same time, Správa železniční dopravní cesty (SŽDC) prepares reconstruction of this corridor’s last section leading from Ševětín to the border of the South Bohemian capital. A vast amount of financial resources is also designed for repairs of passenger buildings; next year, construction works will start e.g. at České Budějovice Main Station, in Tábor or Veselí nad Lužnicí.
SŽDC Opened Three More Repaired Station Buildings in Central Bohemia
Správa železniční dopravní cesty (SŽDC) completed renovating three passenger buildings on a part of the “Sázava Pacific” train line between Ledečko and Zruč nad Sázavou in Central Bohemia. Repairs of station buildings were related to a complete line reconstruction in this section which was completed this June.
Trains near Teplice Will Ride Faster, People from Litvínov Will Acquire a Direct Connection to the Region Capital
The railway in the Krušné hory (Ore Mountains) area ín the Ústí nad Labem Region expects a substantial change in the period to come. Správa železniční dopravní cesty (SŽDC) started modernizing several localities in the neighbourhood of Teplice. The works’ completion will bring not only higher line speed, operation safety and travelling comfort but thanks to electrification also a possibility of a direct connection of Litvínov with the region capital. A festive launch of three constructions concerned took place today in Teplice.
